Evidence and marketing are different source classes, and our pages should make that visible.

Source hierarchy

For product format, checkout and merchant statements, we use the merchant or retailer. For scientific claims, we prefer peer-reviewed primary research, systematic reviews and established research databases. Affiliate reviews are not used as proof of efficacy.

Claim handling

We write “the merchant says” when a statement originates in marketing. We do not convert a mechanism hypothesis into a guaranteed benefit. We do not invent firsthand use, testimonials, ratings, prices, clinical outcomes or user counts.

Updates

Commercial details and scientific literature can change. Pages should display an update date and be re-checked when Search Console data, merchant changes or new research makes an update materially useful.

Corrections

Substantive corrections should update the page itself. When a correction changes the interpretation of evidence or a commercial recommendation, the revised language should be explicit rather than quietly preserving an outdated conclusion.
